The work on developing furniture is for me about functionality, easy-to-read details and low-tech solutions to
the design. Furniture is, for me, above all utility items. My things are not sculptures that can be used as
furniture, but furniture that is sculptural.
I like to work with simple geometric shapes, and like to repeat them so that they form patterns both in the
construction itself, in the light that passes through and the shadows being thrown. The interaction of the
materials is for me the great challenge - finding the completely obvious "low tech" solution that just meets the
requirements for form and function. It is in the detail the devil is buried - good design is not when you have
no more to add, but when you have no more to remove.
